This is the cake I made for my family’s Christmas celebration. It is NOT at ALL what it was supposed to be, but I had a small sugar disaster that sent me back to the drawing board to salvage it, after shedding more than a few tears. But I am very proud of how it turned out, especially since I was in crisis mode!

I fell back to two of the things I love best—-bling & ruffles! And I had been dying to use the huge Magnolia flower that I had made a while back. So I airbrushed it silver & added glitter, & it all worked out! Disaster averted!

The top tier is white cake with a surprise inside——red & green Christmas ornaments, that will be visible when the cake is cut! The bottom tier is a Hummingbird cake with Browned Butter buttercream filling. Both tiers are white chocolate ganache & my own homemade fondant.
