A Simple Touch of Venice

Not Christmasey, but a December Birthday Cake. A plain and simple little cake for a special friend who loves Venice and all things Italian. Ann (and her husband Pete) are close friends who we tour to Italy with regularly in the classic cars from UK. Using Ann’s most favourite colours, this is a chocolate Cake ‘leather’ cushion and sugar mask. The feathers are made with cold porcelain and I made the candle boot with sugarpaste. As you can see, by pure coincidence, Ann was wearing these colours on the day I gave this to her! :)
