Hope this first attempt at putting together a tutorial makes sense!!The only equipment required is grey fondant with a little cmc or tylose mixed in to firm it up a bit, small piece of spaghetti and black edible marker. The quantities used for this teddy, suitable for a cupcake topper, are approx 20g for the body, 10g for the legs, 8g for the arms and 20g for the head. This ruffle flower is a spin off from one of my previous ruffle flower. This is great as a cupcake topper specially for vintage themed cupcakes. Happy caking my friends :)
I made this cake a while back when I just started doing cakes professionally. If done today I’d probably do a much better job such as decorating the board. Never the less this is one of the popular posts on my blog and has helped a few newbies with their sculpting. So I though it was worth a share. I added just enough pictures that I thought were necessary, I have more progress pictures on my blog post just in case you have any doubts.http://veenaartofcakes.blogspot.co.il/2012/02/how-...

Here’s the part two of ruffle flowers seen on the above cake photo. This video showed how to make the little ruffle flowers. Just a heads up, I used 50/50 gum paste and fondant mixture on all the ruffle florwers shown on this video.
I just saw a video from Verusca Walker about making molds out of leftover fondant that was so interesting I thought I’d share it with you. You can see the actual video through YouTube. Take all of your leftover fondant from previous cakes and mix them together until you have a pliable piece – you will probably end up with a grayish or taupy color; add a generous amount of Tylose because you want the mold to harden rock solid. Once you have thoroughly mixed the Tylose into th...
ClICKSTIX is one of my favorite tool but just like every other tools I have, I was faced with a big “uh-uh” moment when I first used it. I am not one to give up specially on something I had set my heart on to so I experimented on various ways to effectively use it. Here’s my very effective way of using my CLICKSTIX letter cutters. Enjoy and happy caking :)
