White Magnolia is one of my favorite flowers,it is pretty and easy to make. In this picture-tutorial I want to show, even without Magnolia cutters, you can still create a nice flower.Any ordinary 3 sizes leaf cutter works :-) Please feel free to ask questions. This is for those people who are not so skillled in using paintbrush like me. :) Just realized that Isograph Techical Pens can be used for your wanted sharpness and crispiness of your hand-written text and drawing outlines on your cakes. You just need to buy a new and empty Isograph Tecnical Pen (refillable) and fill it with edible ink (same ink which you can use in edible printers ) and your good to go. Happy Decorating everyone :)
Here’s the part two of ruffle flowers seen on the above cake photo. This video showed how to make the little ruffle flowers. Just a heads up, I used 50/50 gum paste and fondant mixture on all the ruffle florwers shown on this video.
Lovely Purple Dahlia – Made in gumpaste How I made the purple Dahlia from this photo… What I do when I find a flower I want to make Don’t have the real flower then print the best photo or photos you can find. Look through your cutters to find one which would work best. You don’t always need to buy a cutter since many cutter sets have several components and with a little manipulation you can create the perfect petals shapes. ...
Part 2 – The Moth Orchd Throat and ColumnThe Moth Orchid Continued Making the Column Take a small ball of paste and roll into a tear drop Insert a 22g wire into to pointy end Mold to wire making a point. Not too big so it is a good size for the petals Hallow out with a small rolling pin or similar, keeping the top smooth and round Leave to dry Making the Throat The throat is a bit trick and is best if you can look at a real flower or o...
I have been asked several times for a tutorial on this, so I have made this video which is a collection of photos I took at the time and is by no means the best way to do one. It is merely a guide if you haven’t made one before and need ideas! I was very new to cake decorating and did not follow any guides or tutorials and was simply working from a photograph of a bike… so… there are many, many flaws. This was my first technical sugarpaste construction f...
I posted a few days ago Sydney will be turning 21, and I am creating a few different cakes for her to choose from for her party. This is the first cake for her to view. This cake is a billow weave, Susan Trianos has a wonderful video explaining how she creates a wonderful tufted billow weave cake. The first time I saw the billow weave I thought of Sydney, between her love of fashion and fondant cakes, I knew she would adore the fabric fondant cake.Read the whole s...
Here is what you will need: Repeat step 2 and 3 with light green fondant. Mix remaining light green fondant with white gumpaste. With smallest petal cutter cut enough petals for 2 rows. For more Tutorials visit my FB page https://www.facebook.com/MelinArtCakes

Monograms have been a big trend with wedding cakes now for a couple of years. I do at least one or two monograms a month. I have several different methods I use, but this will be my new “easy monogram” method. And I must confess that I been obsessed with Pinterest lately, so I asked my hubby to help me make my tutorial “Pinterest Friendly”. I’m not sure that it is Pinterest Friendly (its longer than I expected), but it is a very easy method for making monogra...
