This (to me) is the hardest part about making a cake, getting that great clean smooth finish. With this tutorial by Whisk Kid, they show you how to frost a cake the best way every, with a scraper. Getting a bowl scraper, metal one, or any kind of scraper is the best way (to me) on how to create that smooth finish. This step my step word and picture tutorial will help you create that great finish.

This is the most popular post on my blog, and the most viewed video on my YouTube channel, because it’s something we all have struggled with. In this video tutorial, I will show you my method for getting my cakes ice-rink smooth. And as an added bonus, I will provide my buttercream recipe below the video window.

Here’s my little video tutorial on how I made this Blush Pink Rose :)
Enjoy and Happy Caking :)

I’m a new cake maker and have just created my first real cake – an Alice in Wonderland 3 tier topsy turvy cake, covered in wonderful fondant characters, including Alice, White Rabbit, Queen of Hearts… (view here—> http://cakesdecor.com/cakes/32594)
I made a few mistakes along the way, including poking some toothpicks through characters heads, failing at making white toffee in the first instance etc. I’m hoping that by sharing my blog on how I made ...
