3-D Ruffled Ombre Dress Sugar Cookie

41 days ago by Bobbie | 1 comment »

I have been watching General Hospital for 48 of the 50 years it has aired on ABC, my grandma and I would await for every new adventure each day at 2:00 pm CT. I skipped school on November 17th 1981 to watch Luke and Laura”s wedding, I actually missed a few more days leading up to the event. I cried in 1994 when Maxie Jones needed a heart transplant; her recipient being her cousin BJ and again in 1995 when Stone Cates died. I inadvertently turned Sydney, my daughter,... Tutorial - Brush Embroidery

64 days ago by TashasTastyTreats | 10 comments »

What is Brush Embroidery? It is a decorative technique used in sugar craft art. A paintbrush is stroked through royal icing leaving behind brush strokes which resemble stitching in fabric. 92 days ago by FifiCakes | 16 comments »

These have been my most popular cake and CakesDecor very kindly selected them as Editor’s Choice last year. I have been promising for ages to put together a guide to making these for those of you who have said ‘I can’t do that’. I hope you will be able to see that, yes you can. All you need is a cake, a pair of real boots as ‘models’ on a stool. Paper. Ruler and cake decorating edibles 1. Cut out the shape of a shoe sole. I did this by placing my ...

Cake Boards #1: York Stone Effect

127 days ago by FifiCakes | 18 comments »

I received a lot of interest in this cake board for my latest cake which had a boot on it and so have put together a few pictures I took during the process. 1. Roll out fondant onto board. Mix the fondant to the lightest shade of the stone and add bits of darker shades, roughly moulded in to the paste (I use fairly old fondant mixed with tylose to avoid ripping of the fondant at this stage and also mix bits of old and dry fondant in to create more of an ‘outdoor’ look!) ...

Hi guys, hoping you all can help me please. I’m making a cake for next weekend and need to make an octagonalCage for the top of the cake. It’s a UFC themed cake. I have tried royal icing but it’s very delicate and easily breaks. Any ideas would be appreciated.
