This is a pillow cake for a 50th birthday. The shoe is made of fondant/gumpaste and completely edible. We two-toned the fondant with purple on the bottom and biege on top with white royal accents. 10 inch and 6 inch tiers are of yellow cake and filled with chocolate mousse and oreo cookie crumbs. To make gum paste leaves on floral wire, you’ll need: 26 gauge (food safe) wire, green gum paste, rolling pin, angled offset spatula, CelBoard, gum glue, rose leaf cutter, dusting pouch, and a leaf veining mold or shaping foam and veining tool.

Mix your batter as usual, and add a tiny amount of whatever colour you decide that you are going to use. For this cake I am using pink, use a cocktail stick to add the colour in gradually so you only need to add a tiny bit for the first layer. Bake and cool. Make sure that when you put the batter in the cake tin that you use the same amount of batter for all other layers, but I added more for the darkest layer. (bottom)
