I entered these cupcakes in my county fair and got an honorable mention in 2011! This cupcake is one of my all time favorites! They are adapted from a recipe I found online years ago (sorry I dont remember the original source)

Just thought I’d share a fun idea for cupcake designs that’s easy to do and really has unlimited possibilities. The print used for the flower is an edible image. You can really come up with some funky designs just by choosing different prints and then picking up the different colors from the print to use in the buttercream icing and the rest of the flower.
Start by rolling out fondant on a greased mat to about 1/16” thickness.

This is how we made our very popular Valentine’s Heart Baked Cupcakes ~
First off bake a thin red sponge – this needs to be about 2cm thick but be careful not to overbake it as you will be baking it again in the centre of the cupcake
Then cut out hearts from the red sponge with a heart cutter that fits comfortably into your cupcake cases, mine was about 3cm at it’s widest point

Caymancake’s Basic Cupcake Recipe
2 C self rising flour1 C milk3 large eggs2 C granulated (white) sugar1 C butter2 tsp vanilla
