This tutorial shows how to make a two layer rainbow cake. I used Duff Electric Color gels and Wilton gels for the colors of the rainbow.
Evenly separate you cake batter into 6 bowls and line up your icing colors. You will need purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, pink. I use mostly Duff brand electric colors and fill in with Wilton yellow and orange.
My son always loves to help with this part. Squeeze a few drops in each bowl of batter and stir well.

I made this cake a while back when I just started doing cakes professionally. If done today I’d probably do a much better job such as decorating the board. Never the less this is one of the popular posts on my blog and has helped a few newbies with their sculpting. So I though it was worth a share. I added just enough pictures that I thought were necessary, I have more progress pictures on my blog post just in case you have any doubts.http://veenaartofcakes.blogspot.co.il/2012/02/how-...

Yesterday sadly I experienced my first major cake disaster since I’ve started baking professionally. I must say it was sad and heart breaking, but I managed. I’ve had mishaps before where I’ve been able to fixed them on the spot. This particular one left me no choice but to start over.
I had promised some friends (a couple that I’ve recently met that I would be baking them one of my yummy cakes, the “Rum Pineapple Upside Down cake”). It’s one of my ...

My fingers are starting to dry out already from the delicate shaping of the tiny fondant bits and pieces (must buy some really good hand cream this weekend). I’ve planned out the shape and size of the cake, the catagory section is “A wedding cake of two or more tiers. So I’m goi...
