As promised, here is the tutorial I did to help you make a princess barbie doll cake. you do not have to use a doll, you can model your own as well, but seeing as I was given this topper, I decided to give it a try and it was so much fun…. like being a little girl again and dressing up my dolls :) If you have a domed cake tin, then great, if not, then this is what I did. 8”, 6” 4” round chocolate cakes, stacked and choc ganached and covered. What is Brush Embroidery?It is a decorative technique used in sugar craft art. A paintbrush is stroked through royal icing leaving behind brush strokes which resemble stitching in fabric. It looks so beautiful and effective and it is not overly time consuming, what could be better! I have had some interest in “how to” on this cake, so here is a tutorial to help along the way. Carved and ganache chocolate cake (apologies I do not have photos of the smoothing process) I then covered it with flesh coloured fondant. Then I covered with blue fondant that I previously had cut a pattern and did the same for the burgundy coloured fondant too.
