This (to me) is the hardest part about making a cake, getting that great clean smooth finish. With this tutorial by Whisk Kid, they show you how to frost a cake the best way every, with a scraper. Getting a bowl scraper, metal one, or any kind of scraper is the best way (to me) on how to create that smooth finish. Hi and if your reading this or looking at my cakes you will realise I’m not a pro and just starting out. So far I’m loving baking and creating cakes. For those of you who have read my blog will know that my life and cake seem to follow disaster after disaster yet somehow I keep going and somehow it manages to work!!! Us cake decorators, we are a special breed …... we exist on lots of caffiene, little sleep and the appreciation of those we decorate cakes for. Despite the sleepless nights, we love what we do, and we do it, disasters or not!!

This “Series” of blogs has to do with giving. Giving to others seems to be a “thing” for me :) I decided when I started baking that it couldn’t always be about money. So excited about my second wedding cake order! I love making wedding cakes even though they are time consuming, I find piping to be a true love for me. For this cake the bride wanted simple ivory buttercream cake, piping, and roses cascading down the side, which i just finished making plus the filler flowers and leaves! I could make flowers all day…I cant wait on my next wedding cake due in January. Hopefully ill get another booking for one before then :) Till then ill count my blessing...
