I have plans later on this year for a far more detail on the 2 doll cakes I experimented with.. but as I have been asked many times for this, here is just a mini version of Oliver, which may help give some insight towards inspiring you to give it a go.. it really is very simple to make if time-strapped (as I was ) and only took a day :) Here is Oliver…. Sculpted Cakes #1: Freddie the Dog

This is a tutorial to create a sculpted or 3D sitting dog cake like my ‘Freddie’ cake. You could adapt this to different breeds (even different animals!) and make it in a variety of sizes. I used a 14 inch board and two chocolate sponge cakes baked in 2 cup and 4 cup pyrex bowls. This isn’t a difficult cake to create but IS time consuming (it probably took me a total of 6 or 7 hours).
