Hi, bakers, if anyone has a cherry/banana cake recipe that you’d like to share, PLEASE, post it – you’ll be helping me out of a jam (no pun intended). I just got an order for a Mother’s Day cake and the client wants a white cake with a cherry-banana filling.
I’ve never done this combination – but I would think that a cherry filling is quite sweet and maybe a chocolate cake might be better… but since I’m not sure, I will welcome your recipes!...

I need to place ribbons on a wedding cake this weekend and I am not sure how to get the ribbons to stick.There are ribbons not just around the bottom but they crisscross on each layer. I am afraid that they will not stick or will become blotchy. HELP

Sorry I have to state here it was all Mr Kirstie’s Cakes fault that this cake for looked over lol it was for his mum he should have reminded me haha although the main reason was the 50th birthday cake that got brought forward a week so I just carried on from original date in my cake diary :-/

So if you’ve been following my blog you will know that over the past couple of months I’ve been getting a lot of new gadgets to play with :-) from cutters to cricut machines and sugarveil to isomalt Well I got 3 new ones today!The first is a New York skyline cutter my idea is to use it on my daughters 19th birthday cake the end of January so my brain is working overtime on ideas now. Well i had a weekend few from cakes and decided i really needed to start practising my skills in modelling more beauiful figures. I have practised this over and over and just couldn’t really figure out how to get them better, so found a tutorial by the talented Lorraine Mckay on her website www.icingextra.co.uk where she sells online tutorials.
