On A Mission #1: Prayers for Baylee

149 days ago by KelilahsKreations | 2 comments »

This “Series” of blogs has to do with giving. Giving to others seems to be a “thing” for me :) I decided when I started baking that it couldn’t always be about money. Money tends to take the fun out of things anyway. We worry about prices and what we should charge and how much our “time” is worth and on and on. Pretty soon I feel indignant about those who don’t want to pay and discover that gem that rises up in me. I always come back to &#...

Preparation for my first cake competition..cont'd

281 days ago by Karen Flude | 2 comments »

I’ve been working on some of the characters for the competition cake again this week. I’m quite pleased with them so far, but there’s loads to do yet. Also this week I’ve been trying out recipes and icing techniques for Christmas biscuits…yes Christmas seams to arrived early to my kitchen this year! I’m preparing ready for my Craft Stall later in the year and don’t want any nasty surprises with soggy biscuits or the taste not being just right....

Handwritten Text on your Cakes #1: Isograph Technical Pens for Cakes

143 days ago by genzLoveACake | 2 comments »

This is for those people who are not so skillled in using paintbrush like me. :) Just realized that Isograph Techical Pens can be used for your wanted sharpness and crispiness of your hand-written text and drawing outlines on your cakes. You just need to buy a new and empty Isograph Tecnical Pen (refillable) and fill it with edible ink (same ink which you can use in edible printers ) and your good to go. Happy Decorating everyone :)

On A Mission #2: Baylee's Cookies

142 days ago by KelilahsKreations | 2 comments »

https://www.facebook.com/PrayersForBaylee There’s a link above for beautiful Baylee. I hope people are inspired to stop by and pray for this precious little girl. I haven’t met her but that doesn’t matter. She’s important and precious, beautiful and worth every effort we can all give to pray or act on her behalf. This week I didn’t have a cutter for the design she’d like… so I downloaded a few pictures of Hello Kitty and chose a few. I drew ...

Whoop my first blog entry!! What shall I write about? Shall I bore you with useless information about how I stumbled upon cakey making? Yes, I think I shall :D I have been surrounded by craftly folk all my life! My Grandma’s, Mum, Auntie Karen and cousins. For as long as I can remember, arts and crafts have been the main constant hobby while growing up. My earliest memories are of me and my cousin making plaster shell pictures, pom poms, quilled cards and just gluing and sticking any...

I could make flowers all day…I cant wait on my next wedding cake due in January. Hopefully ill get another booking for one before then :) Till then ill count my blessing...
