for more information on these you can contact me on my webiste at: www.callicious.co.uk or on my social page on http://ww...

In this video tutorial, I will show you my method for getting my cakes ice-rink smooth. And as an added bonus, I will provide my buttercream recipe below the video window.
This technique works best with an all butter icing. Feel free to try it with your own recipe, but I am providing my “kids” butter cream recipe if you want to...

I’ve been wanting to blog for a while. Cakes are my passion or my ‘cake porn’ as the other half would say. I’m working on some cakes I’ve done before this week. One for an engagement, the other a cake topper. The sun is shining outside but I don’t care. I’m off to mould something simple into something beautiful – HOPEFULLY!x

This is a softly sweet filling made from mascarpone which is an Italian cheese made of cream and a citric acid base. Because of that, it enhances sweet flavors and pairs well with fresh fruit. This filling can be used to fill cakes or cupcakes, or even frost their exterior (if kept refrigerated).
Ingredients
8 oz Mascarpone cheese (Chilled)
1/2 cup Chopped Fresh Strawberries (thawed/drained frozen strawberries may be used)
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 Tablespoon fresh lemon juice
