This cake has just been featured in Cake Central Magazine volume 4 issue 6. It was actually made a good 3 months ago, but now I am able to share it with CakesDecor as well! The theme I was given was baby shower cake based on the ‘Tale of Ginger and Pickles’ and this is what I came up with. I was a little short on time so it was only a single tier but I tried to pay special attention to the models to make them as closely as possible to resemble the illustrations in the book. The shop front was made from polystyrene covered in fondant/gumpaste and I carved a re-cess for the window and added an a piece of acetate over the top to make it look like glass. The figures where made from gumpaste then painted with confectioners glaze and food dusts/gels.

Lace and Bows Wedding Cake – the Brides inspiration was a cake from Cotton and Crumbs with cut-out scrolls and flowers which have been piped over to resemble lace.

Wedding cake for a customer, 3rd time I have done this design, this one is simplified a bit with one large focal rose, I always like the way this design looks when finished.

I made this for my grandma’s 82nd birthday. It features an open peony sugar flower and lace trim (from a mould by sunflower sugar art). Peony’s are one of my favourite flowers with vibrant colours like this. She was very pleased with it and poked at the sugar flower to see if it was real or not : )

I made this cake for Stu (my other half’s) Grandma who has reached a ripe old age. She loves her garden and her favourite colour is green so the cake is based around this. The cat is a cheeky addition, we all know what cats do in other peoples gardens (not their own), especially the most immaculate ones! I have censored the final picture so as not to cause offence to anyone x

Art Deco Lamp with working light -just visible at top and sides of base! (pastillage core covered in modelling chocolate and dusted with bronze lustre powder, back piece made from poured isomalt with squires moonbeams lustre added to make it opaque)

I entered this cake into Cake International at the Excel in London this weekend (12-14th APR 2013) and was very honoured to get a gold award for it! I am half Iranian and have wanted to do a cake to showcase the amazing art and architecture from the middle east for some time. I hope you guys like it x

This cake was donated to a raffle to raise money for the Martha Trust. The logo makes a beautiful cake.

This cake stood 12” tall and 8” round in the middle and was made up of 3 tall stacked sponge cakes. It was a last minute order so was baked one day and decorated the next. Note; cakes like this need a central support going all the way through and into the board other wise they will fall over in transit (this is what i should have done but in all the rush didnt think it through properly)!

My latest wedding cake for a customer, the cats were less than an inch tall so they could be in the correct proportion compared to the couple. I am still working on making my sugar models more refined and in the correct proportions, these are a lot better than when I started out!

This is another display cake for this springs wedding fayres. The sugar flower on top is wired with seed head stamens and the ones on the middle of the cake are totally edible. The flowers on the cake where drawn on free-hand using pictures of real flowers for reference and painted on using edible dusts and gels mixed with confectioners glaze. I have taken pictures of the cake in progress and the making of the unwired edible flowers round the cake centre and will be putting them up as tutorials soon if anyone is interested.

My Butterfly Blush cake featured in this months Cake Central Mag. The butterfly’s are made from gumpaste and hand painted. The lace was hand cut from gumpaste after using a mould and placed in a bespoke symmetrical pattern. The colour palete of the cake was taken from the inspiration picture supplied. The gumpaste flowers are ruffled roses and carnations with oak and rose leaves as filler.

Introducing Mr Fish – carved vanilla madeira cake (about 10×8inches) filled with buttercream and raspberry jam. Fish scale embossing mat and airbrush used to give the scaley effect

Wonky Wedding cake delivered 31st December 2012, from top to bottom vanilla, chocolate, coffee. Dark belgian chocolate sugarpaste was used to cover the middle tier and do the striped decorations giving the lovely rich colour and a fabulous smell!

This wedding cake was delivered yesterday weighing in at a rather substantial 20kg (8”10”12” square), the heaviest one I have made so far! Each of the larger snowflakes was unique to mimic nature.

A customer ordered this Birthday cake incorporating all her other half’s hobbies and interests played out by Leprechauns
