I made this 2 tier vanillla sponge cake for our local hospice, Dr Kershaws. They were having a Masquerade Ball and the cake was donated to raise money in an auction. The colours were chosen to match their logo. I love this subject for a cake you can really go to town with embellishments, in this case I made the masks out of gum paste, sugar paste ruffles, pearls and rice paper feathers.
