I was so excited to receive a request from Cake Central to submit a cake for their Gothic Wedding issue. I really never thought that would ever happen! I didn’t have very much notice and wish I could have done something a little more elaborate, but I was happy with the way it turned out. I painted the edges with 3 coats of luster dust to get it to pop against the black. I wrapped the bottom of the white tiers with black fondant feathers and I kept it simple with just a few roses. Hope you like it!

My first time doing a topsy turvy! An Alice in Wonderland theme for a baby shower.

I was so excited about doing this cake- and a little nervous too! I rarely get the opportunity to do fondant wedding cakes. Also my first time using Massa Ticino- and let me tell you it was worth every penny. It was so easy to work with. It’s a 4 tier with fondant layers and hand painted gold trim. This was a design the bride requested after seeing it in Brides Magazine.

I was delighted to have the opportunity to create this for the current issue of Bird’s Party Magazine. I don’t often get the chance to do a lot of custom fondant work. Most of our bakery orders tend to be pretty basic roses/balloon cakes. I think it would be perfect for a fall wedding or groom’s cake. Those fabulous sugar butterflies are from Sugar Robot :).

Thought I’d post a picture of my buttercream roses. I make them on a stick, not a nail.

This was made for a couple fond of the outdoors. 7”/10” rounds covered in fondant to look like tree stumps. Finished with gumpaste daisies and butterflies and a “carving” of their names into the stump.
