After working in a pharmaceutical company for 15 loyal years, I decided to quit my job to be a stay-at-home mum to my 3 kids in Jan 2012. It was by my husband's suggestion to bake my youngest daughter's 1st birthday cake in that January itself that got it all started.
I had no experience before in baking, let alone in cake decorating but I accepted the challenge to make my daughter a doll cake. The cake, of course, tasted horrible but for an amateur, the cake looked pretty enough..lol!!
That is when i decided to improve my skills further by taking the basic cake decorating courses with Wilton. Subsequently in the same year, I have attended and successfully completed other courses as well as cake decorating masterclasses with local and international cake artists.
What started as a hobby, eventually, became a small home business when I began to take orders from friends. The more orders I do, my cakes especially my skills improved too. So, practice does really makes perfect! :-)
Scrumptious by Michelle is created after numerous encouragement from family and friends to carve a name for myself.
I truly believe that a cake which is custom made is an art itself which will make the event an even more memorable one. So, cake is no longer just cake. It's cake art...
