This is a 12” (5” high) Vanilla sponge, filled with vanilla buttercream and strawberry jam.

This is a charity Christmas cake that I’m donating to our ballroom dancing Xmas party organised by the lovely Izabela from IzabelaDance – in aid of Shooting Star CHASE Childrens Hospice.

The aim was to create a Christmas cake with a dancing theme and a bit of ‘bling’!

This cake was made for my first paying customer. It’s a rich chocolate cake filled with vanilla buttercream and iced with chocolate buttercream. They then had a disc of fondant as a base for the woodworking tools (they didn’t want a fully-iced cake).

I made this cake for my son’s recent 30th birthday. The cake itself is the wine box and is vanilla sponge, with strawberry jam and vanilla buttercream. The wine bottle is sugarpaste with an edible printed image. The corkscrew is made from painted modelling paste. I hope that you like it
