I am starting to feel quite panicked. I am away for 27 days on a very very busy business trip. A food Trade show for our company www.denheath.co.nz in Australia. We will be in Costco Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra giving away free samples of our Custard square and selling Frozen packs of 10. Why am I feeling panicked. I make 3 to 6 flowers a week and I wont have time to make many if ANY!!! I start getting icing DT’s after just 2 days … never alone 27 days of no sugar! Here are some of my flowers… Yup Im the crazy icing lady who may need to build an extension on to the house soon to keep them all! One VERY exciting thing though! I might meet Raewyn From https://www.facebook.com/pages/CakesbyRaewyn/205607579476102?fref=ts in Sydney!!!!
Just Playing!!! Yellow and Pink Gum Paste Rose

Working with a slightly different medium for me. Usually I use Bakels Pettinice with added CMC / Tylose but this time I have been using a Gumpaste … the yellow is Rainbow Dust Yellow from the UK and have dusted with 3 different pink shades ranging from pink to Maroon. Still needs a little drying and touch up dusting. Gumpaste is harder to use for me… and my petals are not quite as thin… BUT this is probably a good think! as sometimes I make the flowers so fine they are terribly fragile!

A big thank you to cakes decor for my gorgeous apron! I love it! I was shopping for a Veiner for roses and friend had shown me Nd came across Modena (a cold porcelain recommended by Alan Dunn to make flowers) it was out of stock but they had a product called heart soft! It says a faux cold porcelain virtually unbreakable, not sticky and to be used in the same method as sugar when it comes to colouring and method. It was inexpensive so I bought pack. This is my first rosé with it! I am making a peony too. I have found it the most mind blowingly amazing medium which amours me to bits!

Was inspired by a fellow caker to make a yellow centered pink icing rose. This is what I came up with using 2 shades of yellow and 2 shades of pink. I have made one more but prefer this one! Tutorial coming on my page Soon!!!

Playing with Sugar Pink / white Rose'

Had a huge craving to play with icing last night! I needed to use up some of the icing from the Isis Belle Rose But knew I did not have enough pink so thought I could try using a a white too. I’m quite pleased with the result and think next time I might use more than 3 shades. Perhaps experiment with some different colours! I need lots of flowers for a cake in March! No cutters used just the method in my tutorial with a plastic bag :-) Final photo is after dusting was complete
