Well what a productive day :-) I’ve managed to get my 4 tier baked 2 vanilla Madeiras a 2 chocolate Madeiras and they all turned out fab. The best was yet to come. For the cake idea I have in mind I needed a light weight cake as a topper but the while surfing Facebook a fab site Shereen’s cakes & bakes put a post up about having used something called RKT for modelling some large penguins on a cake. Not having a clue what this was I started googling and found out it was butter ...

I’m in need of building a portfolio of cakes to show people but to do this I’m having to make lots of cakes and my families getting fed up of eating them as you would lolI had and idea of getting together the cakes I want to make and offering them to people in the new year for a one off £20 charge. Part 12: Chocolate house pt2

153 days ago by Kirstie's cakes | 0 comments »

Well I got my little one to sleep and jumped up to start decorating the house and moulding the last one. The mould was still demo do I popped it in the oven for 10 minutes. Earlier I tried melting the chocolate and filling a piping bag, it worked fine filling the small areas such as people but seemed a waste of time for the large panels. I was back to the trusted plastic jug pouring, shaking and tapping till it was level in the mould. It’s was setting in the fridge do I decided ...

Part 14: Pulled sugar

152 days ago by Kirstie's cakes | 1 comment »
