I had to take the pictures for this while it was still on my turn table because delivery was so early the morning after I finished it :P Still, I’m really proud of it! I had painted the dogs, had to make my own mould for the shells, and used cookie crumbs to make the “sand”. I loved the effect on this original design! The dogs were done from a picture of the birthday girl’s actual dogs and she said they really did look like her babies… so that was pretty cool! I also really enjoyed doing Ombre again and doing it like the ocean… it was fun to do it in the opposite direction this time :)

My first Purse Cake was done yesterday <3><3

I just thought I’d share my wired roses from this week’s project :) They’ll be used on several cakes this month. I’ve recently taken a few classes to learn how to improve my roses and this is the result of my first attempt after the class.

This is a 97th Birthday cake :) I made lemon cake and had so much fun making the violets! It’s always hard to let cakes like this go… :)

My little buddy turned 5 today… and he picked the theme he loves most! This cake was too fun! We had a great time with him and enjoyed his reaction when he was told that the ball was a giant Rice Krispy Treat and there was a triple chocolate cake oozing with chocolatey goodness under that floor… We popped the candles across the top of the ball (for which I added a little ribbon to mark where they go)... that was a neat effect! Happy Birthday, Isaiah!

PS… The Bowling Alleys have horrible lighting and do bizarre things to pics :/

This little treasure was a last minute Valentine order. I have to say, it’s my first peony! I brush embroidered flowers on the side and added some very delicate leaves to give the flower depth. I’m pretty proud of it! I’ve done tons of roses and Daisy bouquets… lots of other flowers but I just never have done the peony (don’t ask why cause I really don’t know). So, it’s a good attempt but I know it can be better. The pics were done at 1 AM too… so sorry about that LOL. Still, I couldn’t help but share with my friends here because I was so excited and still am!

I usually make Veggie gardens for my fall cabins… I’ve been doing that since the mid 90’s… but I’ve never really thought to put them on an 8” cake before! Let alone make a person out of anything other than modeling chocolate… but the order came in and I couldn’t resist. This came from a lovely 70 year old woman who wanted to bless her husband on Valentine’s Day. She didn’t really have the money for this cake, but I quoted her a less expensive one and then made it anyway. She was so delighted, and so was her hubby! So, congratulations on a great Valentines Day, Dee! And thanks for challenging me to do my veggies on something else :)

I just got done delivering this cake today :). I got the concept from Colette Peter’s Craftsy class. It was so fun to do for my Mom #2’s Office. They were celebrating February Birthdays so the Valentine’s Theme was definitely in order. It was a Sourcream/Almond cake with Almond SBC.

Bird Cage

I made this cage for a friend of mine whose mom was turning 90 years old :) I made the mould for the joining crests myself, so they are totally unique. The same is true of the bird which was hand done. I’m so excited to share this vintage inspired cake with my friends!
