Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle cake :)

So after I made the Igor cake for my dad I decided I wanted to also make the “Abby Normal” brain from the movie with my leftover supplies. The brain is sitting on top of a small cake iced in ganache and sealed completely with modeling chocolate. The brain itself is rice cereal treats covered in modeling chocolate and brushed with jelly. Then I poured in a bunch of Jell-O and Knox mixed. It was too opaque (you can only really see the submerged brain from the front) , next time I will only use one pack of colored Jell-O per gallon of gelatin- or just use a little food color.

One of my favorite movies of all time is Young Frankenstein , which is probably one of very few movies that my dad and I have in common, so this is his birthday cake. Igor (pronounced eye- gor ;) is chocolate cake (baked in the Wilton skull pan) , covered in modeling chocolate and airbrushed/ hand-painted). I also made the abnormal brain which I will post seperately

I absolutely adore Tim Burton movies, so I was super excited when my boyfriend’s neice asked for a Frankenweenie/Corpse Bride/Nightmare Before Christmas cake for her borthday.

Wingsy the dragon for my cousin’s little girl turning 4. Marble cake (actually it’s orange and black tiger stripes inside), covered in ganache. I know she’s going to want to eat him, so I wanted as little support as possible , hence why he is coming out of the cake instead of free-standing. Wingsy is modeling chocolate , air-brushed and hand-painted

For my brother’s birthday, last year he got Jambi from Pee Wee’s Playhouse, so this year I thought I would go the Pee Wee’s Big Adventure route and Large Marge double-sided cake was born;)

I love Tardar Sauce the grumpy kitty who’s popping up all over the internet, so it was a no brainer what to do for my family Christmas cake this year:) Kitty is RKT covered in modeling chocolate and then fondant. The chimney is coconut cake covered in chocolate ganache with modeling chocolate/fondant bricks and white chocolate mortar, and fondant snow

I Can Haz Brains? My Zombie Kitteh Cake, just for fun- with chocolate brains. Kitty is Rotten Red Velvet covered in ganache and then modeling chocolate:)

This was an Angry Birds/Smartphone cake for a friends. The birds are gumpaste. The face of the screen was a gumpaste panel. I made tiny stencils for every logo and airbrushed/hand-painted them.

This was my Sputnikfest cake contest entry (A piece of the Sputnik sattelite crashed here in 1962 and now they have a festival about aliens- I don’t know why but it’s goofy and silly- both things I enjoy). E.T. is sour cream pound cake with gananche icing and covered in modeling chocolate. The Sputnik is styro covered in modeling chocolate because my cereal treats wouldn’t get hard for some reason:( which is also why E.T. is not wearing a cheesehead (I’m in Wisconsin) as the RKT wouldn’t get hard and I ran out of modeling chocolate

Kali Cake.

Made this cake for my mom. Kali is modeling chocolate over a copper tubing armature. Unfortunately I ran out of time and couldn’t make the lotus petal ahead of time- hence the deflated look of the flower
