Pearl-covered cake for today’s wedding! This isn’t the final design but I couldn’t get a good pic of the finished one, and yet wasn’t prepared to let 7 hours of pearl-sticking go to waste. Tiers are red velvet, and coconut and lime.

Delivered to the Institute of Directors in Pall Mall, my second time on that particular monopoly square in two weeks!

Another terrible photo – but if you look very carefully, you’ll see this is a buttercreamed cake with flowers between the tiers. The wedding is in the RAC Club in Pall Mall, and there were so many lovely touches I’m really hoping this one gets blogged! Flowers supplies by Roseberg Flowers – I arranged them though, miraculously no need for touch-ups on the buttercream!

I also made two polymer clay cats (a surprise for the bride from her mum)!

This dessert table was created for Jenny & Anthony, married yesterday at Pembroke Lodge in Richmond Park.

They had a spread of cake pops, mini cupcakes, pistachio macaroons, marshmallow pops, and tiered mini-wedding cake brownies, with bowls of jelly beans and sugared almonds. Jenny has been absolutely ace to work with.

She first contacted me to say that she didn’t want a cake, and didn’t want a cupcake tower…I showed her the Amy Atlas website and the rest is history!

This cake was made to mark 150 years of the London Underground, and is on display at the Ideal Home Exhibiton in Earls Court. It’s based on Mary Koop’s 1925 Underground poster http://www.ltmuseumshop.co.uk/posters/product/Summer-sales-quickly-reached.html .

My son’s birthday is today and, even though he had the King Kong cake at his party at the weekend, I wanted him to have a little cake to cut on the day (there have to be some perks to having a cakey mum). This is what he got, and he’s too scared to look at it.

You might not know what it is, unless you watch as much CBBC as we do – and frankly even Hacker the Dog doesn’t watch as much as we do. It’s from the AMAZING Dick and Dom show Hoopla At the end of the show they play a game very like Deal or no Deal, except with dustbins. And in one dustbin, a scarey clown is hiding. When you pick that bin, he jumps out….and kills you. And THIS justifies the TV license a thousand times over as far as I’m concerned!

The dustbin is chocolate fridge cake and Cyril is rice krispie treats.

This isn’t quite finished, but thought I’d record this stage of the works for posterity! Rose ruffles inspired by Luisa Galuppo Cakes – it looks a little close to her cake at the moment (though hers is way better!) but changes are afoot…!
