This 2 tier birthday cake caused my heart to stop a beat this weekend – it had nothing to do with the structure or the making of Mike the Knight – the problem was completely of my own doing, I spelt my friends little boys name wrong! Panic stricken I raced home & returned clutching a red fondant ‘Y’ and 15 minutes later ‘Hadleigh’ was changed to ‘Hadley’. It’s the first time I’ve ever got a name wrong – luckily my friend saw the funny side but it’s safe to say that from now on I’ll not only be double checking customers names but those of family & friends too!!!

This proved to be my ‘Cake nemesis’ No 2 & whilst I am very happy with the final design, I will not be in a rush to make another Buzz Lightyear too soon! 8” vanilla cake filled with Madagascan vanilla buttercream with a fondant model of Buzz as the main decoration x

I think the answer to that is ‘no’ after the witch, cat & dog were all on board! These were a set of new characters for me – I particularly fell in love with the little dog who is quite simply called ‘Dog’! A small 2 tier (6” & 4”) vanilla cake with chocolate buttercream for a 2nd birthday celebration.

A 6” vanilla cake for a keen golf player celebrating his 50th birthday – although not so sure if I should have called it a ‘snooker’ cake…..

8” chocolate cake for a joint 4th birthday party which originally was going to be Mickey Mouse – so relieved the customer changed her mind and decided upon a Tinkerbell design, this was by far much more enjoyable to make! x

A 6” Vanilla & Chocolate cake for a devoted fan of the band ‘Queen’. This was a last minute order which luckily I was able to do as I’d had a cancellation – so glad I got the opportunity to immortalise the legendary Freddie Mercury in fondant, although I’m not sure if he would have approved of his ‘Mario Bros’ style moustache….. ;)

This 8” vanilla cake was my first encounter with Doc McStuffins but I thoroughly enjoyed making her, Chilly, Lambie & Stuffy the Dragon!

So delighted to be asked to make this design again, especially as it was for the husband of a friend I’ve known since catering college! A 6” Chocolate cake decorated with fondant cricket pads, ball, bat & wickets!

A 6” Red Velvet birthday cake with matching Red Velvet & Chocolate cupcakes with a Parisienne theme including a French poodle, the Eiffel Tower, handbags & of course, high heeled shoes!

A Giant Vanilla Cupcake made for a little girl celebrating her 6th birthday – to keep it the design girlie & pretty, I kept the background colour scheme pastel.
