All hand made and painted by me. The dress has been made to look like leather with studs and laces.

This is my latest Cake. The Red Dragon is the actual Cake.

I did not have time to take my own photo so my son took the photos while it was in the box hence the cut off bits. My son cam home early from work to help me finish and ganached for me and helped move it to the board and put on the purple spikes. If he had not I would not have finished in time.

The first 3 pics are from my son and are good quality the rest are from the cake recipient and are very dull and blurry plus she had broken some of the wings and hat feather. Not sure how as they survived very well at home with me even after a lot of handling.

It is 18” wide approx 45cm
and 15/16” high approx 38/40cm

These are it’s original colours. It attracted the attention of the media in November and an article was written about it. They went to my customers home and took photos there. I have added the press photos which are the paler ones and the one in the ladies hand. By this time some of the colour had faded and its eyes were no longer shiny etc.

It has hidden extras that cannot be seen by photos.

Please bear in mind the words are not mine and that the press are prone to fabrication and exaggeration.

They took photos at the customers home

Minion Cakes

These are 2 full cakes. The largest minion is around 40cm tall
All hand sculpted. I do not use moulds.

I did not do the arms as my son came home and decided I was not working fast enough as he was impatient to see the end result so he decided to do the arms. They are not as I would have like them to be but they are still ok.

These were made for my partner and children who’s never ending belief in my abilities make them ask for the most terrifying things and they expect that I will be able to do them whether I do or not. Part of me does not have any such belief and am terrified but the other part cannot resist a challenge and it is exciting. When I take on a challenge I go to the fullest length possible to achieve it no matter how little faith I have in myself. It is the only way to find out if you can or cannot do something and what your limitations are if any plus it is also a great way to discover new ways to do things and overcome problems. If you give into your self doubt you will never do anything.

As a result of my families outrageous expectations and requests I now have the confidence that I can do these things. I am still terrified by every customer request as I do not know if I will be able to pull them off or not however I tell myself that I will and I just go and go until I have done so.

I hope this helps any of you who doubt yourselves as this is only the 2nd Carved cake I have ever made. You do not know what you are capable of until you try and if you fail the first time learn from it and try again. Do not give up until you have given yourself enough time to prove to yourself if you can or can’t.

I found it a great help to know that some of my favourite decorators had the same fears and doubts as myself.

Once again my teenage son wanted a cake for his current game fad. Much to my dismay.
At first I refused as I doubted my ability to produce it and he once again insisted. Everytime he wanted something added I got stressed and said I cannot do it. He said he knows I can and and I must just do it. I have to say i got very stressed about it however his never ending belief in my abilities made me force myself to believe what he said even though I did not believe it myself and so I did the best I could. I was relieved when it was over however it gave me the courage to try the next cake which was the minions made for my partner.

This Cake is representative of the different Islands of the Game Pocket God.
Each corner of the cake is decorated to represent the closest Island on the cake.

the Sea is made of chocolate and the islands of Sugarpaste. The tree with the spiderweb is made of chocolate.

There are many islands and corners and so I have uploaded the islands seperately as cake toppers if you want to see them.

The Islands are very small and so the pictures are closeups.

He insisted that as I have always been able to make anything he asks for throughout his life that he is certain I can do this. I have to say if he had not done so I would never have had the confidence to do any more. It has been the insitence of my new partner and my children who believe I am capable of anything even when I do not, that I had the courage to go ahead. I have certainly surprised myself as I never expect to get the results that I do. Now I have the confidence to do anything and know that I can and it is thanks to their persistence.
I used to make Castles out of square cakes and ganache only as a teenager before all of this started but I had never done any carved cakes like this at all or covered one like this until now.
Both the bird and the nest are cake with Chocolate and sugarpaste covering and chocolate parts with chocolate filled golden “eggs” sticking out of the nest..
