Here’s a baby shower cake that isn’t so babyish. This one is for the mom (after all, life revolves around the baby for years after he or she arrives, right?) The pale blue pacifier, made from gum paste, symbolizes the baby boy she is having. Lemon cake and curd-based frosting matched the sunny exterior.

This cake was for the bat mitzvah of an enthusiastic NY Giants fan named Lexa (yup, a girl wanted a football themed cake!) The cake is a life-sized helmet, made of a fudgy chocolate cake filled with alternating layers of nutella buttercream and oreo cookie buttercream, covered with ganache. There was an additional kitchen cake along with the helmet to feed all the guests.
