I had been trying to figure out what to do so that people would know they were at the right place to pick up their cake and at 2:00 AM one mornin’ I sat straight up in bed and figured it out! I grabbed my sketch pad and took to drawing. The next day I took my drawing up to my father-in-law and asked him is “this” possible. Because he is one of the absolute best carpenters I know he said yes, it can be done. So I started buying the materials along the way and on Valentine’s day we began building it. It took us a little over 2 weeks to build it and about that long for me to paint it. I hope this will make it easier for people to “find” me :)

Shoebox is cake. Coach purse I carved a piece of styrofoam and covered it with fondant.

Hearts were cut out of sugar sheets using my cake cricut. Bow is fondant/gumpaste mix with tylose as was the ribbon roses

Shannon’s Survivor cake after her chemo! Love ya Doc :~) Cancer ribbon I cut out of luan board and covered in fondant. The piece the survivor is also luan painted white and I cut the survivor, courage, strength, faith & hearts on the top out with my cake cricut on a zebra sugar sheet. All other zebra stripes are hand painted

The words I cut out with my cake cricut. Strength, Courage, Believe & Hope a word for each side. The top tier has a cut out butterfly on the sides and back. The ribbon on the top I cut out of luan and painted then added the stickers to the front and some ribbon around the outter edge.
Her battle is not over yet. She still has surgery to go thru and then radiation but she is a fighter and I know she will plow thru all that just as she did the chemo! God be with this wonderful woman and friend and give her the strength needed to fight the battles left.
