Andes Chocolate Mint Ganache

325 days ago by CrystalMemories | 1 comment »

I searched everywhere for a chocolate ganache recipe using Andes mints and really never found a good one. So, I made my own. It set up to a very nice consistency for me and hopefully it will for anyone else who tries it. I figured I’d go ahead and posted it so I won’t forget it and to help out anyone else looking for a mint ganache recipe :). Ingredients: 3 oz Unsweetened Chocolate (I used Bakers brand); chopped 12 oz Andes Mints (the candy, not the chips is what I used); c...

Looking for a good pineapple cake recipe

327 days ago by funfetti | 11 comments »

My husband’s birthdand and our anniversary (same day) is Friday and he has asked me to make him a pineapple cake – I’ve never made one and I’m looking for a good recipe that I’ll be able to stack. I’m trying to make him a beer mug, which will require stacking several 6” cakes – your “quick” help will be very appreciated. :)))) https://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/FunFetti-Cakes/271035662917797

Too many more and they will start to dry out before you can get to them4) Gather one end like you would if you were making a bow.5)Then the other side.6) Now this is the “Billow” I smash the ends flat.7) Slightly fold the edges in t...

How we made Goofy out of Fondant/gumpaste

405 days ago by Pam and Nina's Crafty Cakes | 19 comments »

This is our first attempt at an iconic character. We were pretty happy with the results! We couldn’t find any help on line, so this is how we made our goofy. We hope it can help! First always make your colors in estimated sizes so that you have it ready when you need it. Stopping to make a color can really slow up your progress and take up a lot of time. Just keep in ziploc as you work. Make 3 balls out of the blue. This will end up the body and the two legs. Roll t...

Castle Cake #1: Whimsical Castle Cake

401 days ago by BMTCakeDesigns | 4 comments »

HOW TO MAKE AN ALL EDIBLE CASTLE CAKE The whole design is actually NOT my original. I have seen several versions of Castle Cakes online which I used as inspiration for this cake. I cannot specify one particular artist as this is not a copy of any actual cake design. As an example: I saw the carriage in a magazine – got the idea from that. The carriage is not an actually copy on the magazine and the maker of the cake was not specified. It was an ad for a fondant. So I improvised. Tow...
