I was asked to produce a gardening cake featuring some veg planters, flowers and most specifically a garden shed with a little sign outside. The shed was a little challenging but after lots of patience it seemed to hold very well.

I finished the cake board off with some Cath Kidston rose printed ribbon.

It was a 8”x5.5” high vanilla cake filled with Raspberry compote and vanilla buttercream.

I was asked to produce a bright and colorful girly Dora themed cake and this is what I ended up creating. I really enjoyed making this cake :-)

Red velvet 11” x 4.5” high cake, covered in hot pink icing and painted with black and gold paint. Sugar lilies and a pair of UGG boots on the top

18 x In the Night Garden cupcakes

Apologies for the poor photographs but I was very rushed for time and had to manage with my iphone camera.

This cake was a 10” by 4” high triple layer vanilla cake – it was also a lot tricker than I thought it would be aligning the circles on top.

This cake was quite time consuming, and although I wish I’d had even more time to spend on it I was pretty happy with the end result. The cake (underneath the table cloth) was a 10” vanilla cake, sandwiched together with strawberry jam and vanilla buttercream.

This cake was for a very special 1st birthday.

12” round, 4” deep vanilla cake filled with Morello Cherry jam and Madagascan vanilla buttercream.

It was a last minute order and I didn’t plan anything really so just decorated as I went along and it ended up being one of my favourite cute cakes.

Before decorating with anything I sprayed my clean white cake with an edible pearl lustre dust. I love the sheen that this spray provides.

The quilting effect round the side was made by simply cutting even squares, and placing carefully on the side of the cake in alternate pink and white. I also used the stitching tool to add effect to the edges. I also cut a few love hearts out of a few of the squares for an extra effect.

I hand made the small toy blocks and used my annoying little tappits for spelling out Matilda.

I then scattered a few pink blossom flowers around the edges and adhered pretty little decorations to the sides of the cake.

Placed on a simply white iced board and finished with a satin pink ribbon.
