I know, I know.. ANOTHER preggo belly cake. You give what they ask for, right? This cake was designed to match the party decor. The animals and decor on the sides are all hand cut from fondant and the same as the decorations. The brown polka dot dress is made to match the trim on the plates/decorations. They gave me free range on the flavor so I did vanilla pound cake with cheesecake pudding filling. Something I thought would be a crowd pleaser (thankfully it got rave reviews!). I made this cake for my gramps’ birthday. He is normally a complete grump with little positive to say about anything I make but he gave this cake praise for days! He hates fondant and complains when I use it (even on cakes for other people lol) So I went with buttercream with a ganache topping. The inside is 6 layers of chocolate tres leches with alternating layers of chocolate buttercream and chocolate buttercream with strawberries for filling. I was pretty thrilled to get an order for a non-traditional wedding cake in my two favorite colors. Though from the amount of work I was a little mad at it until I had it set up at the venue :P Black and red fondant covered cake, fondant billow, royal icing damask stenciling, and real roses. The cake is sitting on a 20” base board and BARELY fit, to give you an idea of the size :P

This is probably my most requested cake design since this is the 3rd cake I have made of this cute little giraffe. This time I wanted to try something different and put a bow around her neck instead of a little bow on top of her head. I don’t think I like it better then the smaller head bow but I do believe that is partially in fault to the head being a little too small for her body lol.

This cake was very challenging but SO rewarding. The fondant just refused to cooperate and was tearing and falling apart all over the place. I had to recover two of the tiers twice and still ended up with a few small tears that I gave up on and just hid with flowers/leafs. All tiers are hand carved then stacked and decorated. Oreo dirt, fondant daisies and leaves, Red vine licorice stems.

The meaning behind this cake was so sweet. It was a graduation cake for a young girl who had recently lost her grandparents. The daisies were special between the girl and her grandma and the redvines were special between her and her grandpa. When I delivered the cake the mother wouldnt let the girl come out until I had it set up and she had her camera ready! When she came around the corner she simply said “Oh! It’s so cute!” but as she walked over to the cake and saw the detail she burst into tears. It was a happy cry and her mother was delighted that she loved the cake and the symbolism behind it. I teared up myself watching her cry as she inspected the details all over the cake. It was by far my most rewarding and special delivery yet!

Its so rewarding to get to be a part of those special moments in peoples lives!

Normally I cringe when a client requests a buttercream cake. Buttercream is my biggest challenge in the decorating world. But I was quite pleased with how smooth I was able to get the buttercream this time! Flowers are all fondant and decorations were based off a cupcake photo from the client.

This cake was for a quinceañera. 4 tier cake with carved corset bust top and 4 matching satellite tiers. Wasnt able to put as much detail work into it overall due to the large amount of cakes but the birthday girl was happy with it regardless.
