Here’s my latest offering at a Sugar Skull cake, made with Chocolate fudge cake and vanilla BC. All hand painted and hand made decorations.

This style of cake is proving very popular of late, that’s 2 similar styles in 2 days :) I won’t complain as I absolutely love sitting down and making all these lovely little flowers. I also invested in the new Sugarflair Pastel range and I have to say, I’m in love with them. The colours can be both very subtle or quite bright, and work lovely together. I also added very pale sky blue flowers in just to break the purples up a little and made the plaque with peppermint green which added a nice little touch.

I was given pretty much free reign on this one, only specs were, pinks and purples with flowers and butterflies :) I thoroughly loved making this cake, had lots of fun and was so pleased with the family’s reaction to it. Makes it all worthwhile.

This is my son’s 5th birthday cake, he’s a huge Lord of the Rings fan as well as the Hobbit, so there was no question as to what he wanted. Helen at Love is Cake kindly gave me permission to use her Bag End cake design, for which I have to say a huge, huge thank you. Excuse the terrible pictures, this was a rush job as my son only decided 2 days prior that he wanted a cake.

The customer requested this cake for her sister and asked me to use some bootie’s that she had for her own daughter’s christening cake, which I thought was lovely. All the other decorations were hand made, the cake itself was plain vanilla with vanilla buttercream and jam.

This was only my second cake, I took on a big job but thankfully it didn’t turn out too bad. Since making this one, I’ve made a further 2 minecraft blocks which I will post later.

The little make-up bits were actually made by the little girl and her Mam which I thought added a lovely touch.

This cake was made for our Dad whose a big Star Trek fan. The logo was handmade and airbrushed. The cake itself is chocolate with chocolate ganache.

I made these cupcakes to match the 60th Birthday cake I made, all decorations again were handmade.

This is a Morello Cherry cake with Morello Cherry Jam and vanilla buttercream filling. All decorations were hand made. Made for a lovely little boy who requested a football cake. Design was inspired by Debbie Brown (50 Easy Party Cakes).

Chocolate cake with chocolate and vanilla buttercream.

This cake was a rich fruit cake, I adapted a tutorial by Shereen from Shereen’s Cakes and Bakes, and I found it worked really well. The recipient seemed rather pleased with it.

This was a cake made for a special little girls 1st Birthday/naming day. All the decorations were handmade, and the topper was designed so it could be taken off and stored as a keepsake for Mum.
