Poinsettia Fondant Cupcake Topper

I am finding many uses for the star shape cookie cutters.

Here is a fast and simple way to make a Poinsettia cupcake topper.

Tools you will need plus fondant with either Tylose Powder or gumpaste.

Cut out your 3 stars using 3 different sizes. Use a leaf impression mat to create the leaf look for the flower stem then pinch each end of the star to make it pointy.

Put your stars together, largest on the bottom working your way to the top with the smallest. Using your fondant sponge and ball tool, press in the middle to create an inward dome. Once that is complete, take a small piece of fondant, shape it into a cone and cut the top part with scissors several times. You may need to cut off part of bottom to make sure it fits correctly in the middle.

You can either paint with petal dust, gel paint or even leave it as is.

Hope you enjoyed this tutorial.

Love your idea, you could probably use the biggest, bottom star for a quick lily also. x
