This is the 3rd actual cake I’ve ever made, I’m used to making giant cupcakes. I still need to work out how to get a super smooth finish on the fondant but I was glad I could cover up the imperfections with fondant spots!

Another One Direction cake. I can’t wait for the band to split up so I never have to make another one of these!

Peppa Pig tea party. I made this for twin girls and I made little edible birthday cards (2nd picture) with their names on for that little personal touch :)

My 2nd EVER novelty cake (I usually make cupcakes). Fifi and the Flowertots and Fifi’s watering can house. I have no trouble modelling figures, they are all handmade from scratch but I had some trouble covering the cake and attaching the spout. There are supposed to be handles on the watering can house too but I gave up completely on them, I just couldn’t get them to work! But it’s all trial and error and I think I need to experiment with some other materials other than Regalice.

These were an experiment with flavour and decoration, purely for practicing and developing skills. It’s the first time I’ve ever made a fondant rose and other flowers. I also flavoured the buttercream with violet essence and dusted the decorations with crushed up Parma Violet sweets. I loved making these and they went down well with my team of tasters (the girls at work lol)

This is the first cake I have ever made :) Up until now I’ve only ever made cupcakes and giant cupcakes and I thought it was about time I tried a proper cake so I thought a doll cake would be a nice safe option to start with!

I made this for my little nephew who turned 1 yesterday. He is named Jenson after Jenson Button the racing driver. Jenson Button himself tweeted a Happy Birthday message to my nephew yesterday!

Happy Halloween everyone! Rather than make the usual Halloween cupcakes eg pumpkins/witches etc I decided to go for something a bit different, characters from horror movies. Introducing Freddy Krueger, Chucky, Jigsaw from Saw, Stephen Kings ‘IT’, the mask from Scream and Pinhead from Hellraiser, hope you all like them :)
