A rather unusual idea for a wedding cake, but it fit in with the outdoor exotic theme the couple had ;) The daughter of my mum & dad’s best friends was the bride (& she looked stunning!!) The design on the middle tier is actually a frequency pattern of the couple’s voices, they recorded ‘I love you husband/I love you wife’ & had it engraved on their wedding bands, & thought it would be good to incorporate it onto the cake aswell. I think it’s a great idea, most definitely unique :)
DJ & Morgwn sent me a picture of Bettina’s original design & asked me to come up with something similar…& together we came up with the final design for their cake.

The blue Singapore Orchids are fresh flowers – the florist didn’t have any spare for my practising purposes, so the small lilac Singapore Orchids were used to figure out final placement of the flowers, hence the 2 different views.

My niece turned 18 last week – & for her cake she wanted something inspired by Salena Gomez’s 20th birthday cake. And this is what we came up with. Thankfully, she loved it :) Top tier is caramel mud cake & the bottom tier is chocolate mud cake. The cupcakes around the base were gluten free for the 3 coeliacs attending the party – they were also caramel mud cake!

I made this for my very proud Kiwi friend Emily for her 30th birthday. Her birthday isn’t actually until the 19th December, but she will be home in Wellington then so had a little get together for her friends here in Melbourne last weekend – & this is the cake we came up with! A New Zealand North Island, adorned with items that are significantly Kiwi..!
I had so much fun with this cake – the cake is painted (Emily’s favourite colour is purple!!) & all the models (of NZ ‘stuff’) are hand made & also painted to look like toys! A new skill I learned from Rick…!

Grace turned 84 this week…! Her birthday fell on Derby day here in Melbourne so everyone thought this design was rather appropriate :) Ax

60th birthday cake for friends of my mum & dad’s – For Henry..! The inside was layers of chocolate mud, coffee madeira & white chocolate ganache, but unfortunately mum didn’t get any piccies of the inside of it at the party :( Perhaps I’ll just have to make it again….............??? Hmmm, perhaps not!! Ade.x

21st birthday cake for the son of a colleague – he was having a haunted house & horror themed party & wanted a graveyard/cemetery scene cake – with mostly cupcakes…! This is what myself & his mum came up with. He loved it, phew! A.xx

I made this cake for my cousin’s birthday last weekend – a big fan of the Richmond Football Club here in Melbourne, which incidentally is the same team I support so was no hardship making it :) The tiger is hand painted & completely edible ;) Ax

I loved making this dinosaur – it was for a friend’s little boy & he’s dinosaur mad. Thankfully, he was over the moon, I personally think it looked like it had a bad case of the measles…!!!

I made a little fruit cake for my friend Carla – she had been my rock during my 11 years in the UK, so this cake just simply ‘said it all…’ It was a combination of a thank you/farewell/birthday cake all in one!
